We very much regret to inform you that STAN BINNINGTON has died of COVID complications last Tuesday 23rd February at the age of 90. Stan was a longstanding member of the club, attending meetings regularly until recent years when his infirmity prevented this. He was awarded the "Normal Frost Award" in 2008 for his regular often unseen work for the Trading Section and the club in general.

For some years now Stan has resided at The Red House care home in Ashtead where he has been visited by several members of the club until the shutdown prevented visitors for the last 9 months. Stan always wanted to know the latest club news and expressed many times how much he missed coming to club and talking to his friends among the members. However his interest in philately never diminished and the cupboard in his room was full of stamp albums which he enjoyed going through from time to time. He kept his most treasured items under his bed ! His stamp collecting interests were centred on Austria and Scandinavia and he also had very good collections of cigarette cards and early decorative bookmarks.

The club's sincere condolences are extended to his daughter Wendy.
