40 members had an enjoyable August meeting where they were asked to display up to 5 pages of anything to do with ‘Air Travel’ meaning anything that leaves the ground. The competition is named after a former member, Roy Gilbert. It is a two-part competition, the second part in November with the title ‘My most interesting item.’ The overall winner will win the Roy Gilbert Cup which will be presented by Roy’s wife Frances at our December meeting.

In the second half of the meeting we had a further three presentations from Simon McArthur on the ‘Third Reich’, Peter White with ‘Crash Mail’ and Michael Miller with a PowerPoint presentation on the ‘First flights crossing the Atlantic’, and Julia Todd on the subject of ‘Birds’.
