August 2026

Even on a warm sunny August afternoon the Bookham Stamp Clubs August meeting attracted 40 BSC members plus one potential new member.
Members were able to view and buy the many stamp bargains from the GB, Foreign and British Commonwealth Trading Tables and also from our Member Simon Burke’s Trading Table selling Postal History (The Club give Members the opportunity of taking 2 Trading Tables each month so they can sell their unwanted material) all tables reported brisk business and a very successful afternoon.
The highlight of the afternoon was listening to the very interesting presentation given by long serving Club member Graham Mytton the subject being Kenya Uganda and Tanganyika joint issues 1935 – 1977, having been a past BBC reporter in Africa Graham was able to impart his own knowledge and history of the area to  bring to life his presentation that was extremely well received by members. The meeting finished at 4.00pm Members left very happy with their afternoon
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 22nd September doors open 1.30 as well as the Trading Tables Members will be able to catch up with like-minded people plus listen, and enjoy other members presentations, and displays who will all be vying for the Roy Gilbert Cup.
